Hello! Thank you for visiting our website and for wanting to learn a little bit about us.
Parkinson's Resource Organization, a 501(c)3 non profit charity "Works so no one is isolated because of Parkinson's disease". It was founded in 1990. We share the executive offices of Leather Plus, Fine Furniture, in Indio, CA and our mailing address is, and has been, in Palm Desert for nearly all 20 years. Our friends often refer to us as PRO.
We pioneered, & remain exclusively, an emotional & educational support organization, consequently "healthy" chocolate interests us as nutrition as well what it may do for unemployed People with Parkinson's. At the top of our list: We really enjoy helping people "Live" with Parkinson's. There is NO CURE and may not be one in the near future, therefore, living with a view toward long-term quality is important. We look forward to educating our constituents through our monthly newsletter "Newsworthy Notes", at monthly support groups, our interactive website www.parkinsonsresource.org, and symposia. April 2010 will be a month of promoting laughter during Parkinson's Awareness month. Goals and ambitions are motivating and important in life. The goals and ambitions of PRO are to build a sustaining organization and continue, with gusto, teaching and supporting people with Parkinson's and their families. We've been fortunate to accomplish many things in our life. Our biggest accomplishment is being a 20 year old organization and living through a very bad economy.
Creating a revenue stream with Xocai, while helping others who may otherwise not have a way to create their own income, delights us as we continue "Working so no one is isolated because of Parkinson's". I hope this gives you some insight into who Parkinson's Resource Organization is.
