Thank you for visiting my personal website and for wanting to learn a little bit about me, and my work with XOCAI.
I live in Orlando Florida. I have lived here for the past 18 years. When asked I still refer to myself as a New Yorker.Orlando has indeed become home but I don't think I will ever lose my NY roots .
I have been lucky enough to have been given the chance to go to some great schools and I have more letters and titles before and after my name that it is confusing for some people. My friends call me Stephen, never Steve. Then there are those few who know me well and call me "MAME: ( do you remember the movie) .
I am a Clinical PhD. Iwork with adult men who are dealing with painful and often dibilitating issues of Childhood abuse and violence .As a survivor myself I feel a powerful call to change the way this issue is addressed especilly for men and young boys.
I enjoy many things, but at the top of my list: I am a semi professional photographer. I enjoy working out my creative energy with my camera. I also help to support one of our local Abuse Awareness Programs " PROJECT LULLABY" with an annual "Beefcake" Calendar . It is a fun and creative way to bring the community together to help those in need.
Rather then travel I would prefer to entertain at home with good friends, great food and wine. I am a really good cook, and enjoy creating anexperience for family and friends who enjoy dining. I enjoy good conversation and the energy and community of the people I value in my life.
There are many things that are motivating and important in a person's life. I am blessed to have lived a great life. Not always onefilled with joy.but always one full of purpose.George Bernard Shaw once said " I want to be fully spent, used up at the end of my life." I think that is my goal as well.I've been fortunate to accomplish many things in my life,but my so called, big accomplishments are for others to comment on, generally because once I have accomplished them I am already to busy moving on to the next think to turn around and notice them.I have derived my greatest joy and sense of purpose by doing what seems "right". Often I have found little things are most profound and hold a greater purpose in my life,the reality in which I live.
After all that I have done with my life I am finding great fulfillment in reaching out to others with the healthy reality of XOCAI. It is this realty in my own life that moves me to share this with you. I hope you contact me so we can talk more about XOCAI and all it has done for me and can do for you.
