Hello! Thank you for visiting my personal website and for wanting to learn a little bit about me. I live in New York City, however, I am a native North Carolinian and have also live in San Francisco. My friends call me Wambui. Named John Ann Washington at birth, Wambui Bahati is my new legal name taken on during the "reinvention of myself." In Swahili Wambui means "singer of songs," Bahati means, "my fortune is good." Before becoming an inspirational speaker and Xocia chocolate lover, I had a wonderful and fruitful career as a professional actress. I am also the proud mother mother of two adult daughters. I enjoy many things, but at the top of my list: performing, theater, reading, writing, sewing and t-shirt painting.
For my last vacation, I went kayaking with some friends and family members through the Delaware Water Gap. I'm not a swimmer and they don't consider me an outdoors type, however, I loved it! I can't wait to go back. Goals and ambitions are motivating and important in a person's life.
I have a goal to hire a band and become a soul singer who also does stand-up comedy. I've been fortunate to accomplish many things in my life. But my biggest accomplishment: I'm very proud of my book 'You Don't Know Crazy' which was published last year. I share the story of how mental illness interrupted my life and how I took my life back and I show how others can too. I'm having the time of my life right now by living my dream of owning my own business. It has allowed me to be more in control of every aspect of my life. I hope that gives you some insight into who I am.
